Cant Belive
[Peters Sports Blog] While searching Yahoo! for soccer/football site’s in Ireland and in Australia I found links to site’s that are in the U.S. and not generally found in Australia. Anyways, I still can’t belive that there are so many site’s on Soccer or Football in Europe and elsewhere.

Wikis
[Peters Sports Blog] I might add a wiki at WikiCities later this summer but I don’t know if I will though. Just seems that I just barley scratching the surface for site, information on soccer. However, I do have a temperory wiki here. My main problem from working on or creating a wiki is the content for it.

Soccer tournament
[Central VA real estate news, trends and opinions] We are in Richmond for the weekend; my older daughter has a soccer tournament. The competition is quite good and the experience as a whole for the girls is unmatched. We won the first game, 4-0 and my daughter not only made several nice saves but scored two goals as well.

USMNT 1 - 2 England
[Adventures Of Mike - Blog] It’s hard to believe I was watching the sixth-ranked team in the world (England,) against the tenth (US), as it really did seem as if it were men against boys for large stretches of the match.

More on Soccer and America
[Newley Purnell, Generalist] One of the most frequently-accessed items on newley.com is “On Soccer and America,” an essay I penned following the American national team’s surprising success at the last World Cup. I’ve been meaning to follow up on the topic; recent news developments have brought the issue to my attention once again.

You'll never walk alone
[maobi] And the loser is? Silvio Berlusconi. Other losers? Roman Abramovich and Jose Maurinho. (share the medal please) All these folks love to bloviate on the back of their teams victories. Not this time. Liverpool smacked them down. This is Anfield folks and Jerzy Dudek (useless piece of ........ finally delivered the silverware) became a hero for once in his life...

Soccer Classics
[chaotic intransient prose bursts] I woke up at an unholy 4 am to watch the Champions League final between Liverpool and AC Milan (BBC report). With Liverpool having defied all odds in their run to the final, I was betting on a match that would be considered a classic in years to come. Damn, I love it when I get it right once in a rare while. When do you get a chance to see, live, an underdog score 3 goals in a span of 6 minutes to tie the game, see their goalkeeper fumble balls yet make two freak miracle saves and provide one of the most entertaining penalty keeping performances ever?

Joyous Liverpudlians
[Newley Purnell, Generalist] Watched the fabulous ending to the excellent Champions League final last night. Liverpool was down 3-0 at halftime against AC Milan and yet they rallied to even the score and then win in penalty kicks.

Liverpool and the Champions League
[LEVELHEAD.org] You see, the Champions League is a UEFA-sponsored tournament that includes the best clubs in European football. Entry into the Champions League is achieved through your domestic standing at the end of the previous season. In England, for example, the top four teams in the Premiership get into the competition.

Memorial Cup 2005 Game Four: Crosby Survives
[Sportsjunkie.ca] I dont blame Ottawa for resorting to this tactic, this kid could be the most unstoppable player the CHL has ever seen. The blame here falls on the referee for allowing all of this to go on with his whistle firmly planted in his pocket. There were many calls that could have been made but its a blatant slash on a partial breakaway that will be replayed when talking about the abuse in this game.

Champions League Final
[Between the Covers] I knew as soon as AC Milan went first on the penalty shoot out, they would lose it. Liverpools goalkeeper must have studied Bruce Grobbelaars tactics - you should have seen him dancing around that goal. AC Milan didn't stand a chance. It's been the talk here all day.

Wizards lose to Earthquakes
[the ryan king] I think the Wizards weakness is lack of a good attacking central midfielder. Our two central midfielders, Diego Gutierrez and Kerry Zavagnin are both more defensive and possession minded, leaving the attack to our strickers and wingers. Tonight we had some great play up top from Wolff, Sealey and Arnaud and on the wings from Klein, Victorine, Jewsbury and Zotinca, but they are lacking support from an attacking midfielder who could tie them all together.
